Basic video editing is possible with Free Video Editor. The software is an exceptionally basic tool used to perform the most basic video editing processes. This app is compatible with a wide array of video file formats, including WMV, MOV, MPEG, AVI, SWF and H.264. These major formats are just a few of those that Free Video Editor can work with.

While Free Video Editor is suitable for cutting and splicing video footage in short films, it has almost no advanced processes and performs at a relatively low standard compared to other video editors, but as a free program, this application isn't bad. It can not convert files, either, so the user must have a proper file type in advance. While the software can be used with larger files, it is not recommended since the app is meant for smaller files.

It should be noted that the software developer for Free Video Editor no longer supports the software, which means there will be no future updates, and the developer offers no help to those still using the program who have issues with the app. Of course, as a free app, there isn't much recourse for someone dissatisfied with the product. The app can be downloaded and is great for quick cuts that more complex video editing systems might make overly complicated among the other advanced editing options.

There is no guarantee the Free Video Editor software will work properly, but assuming the task is fairly basic and the file is fairly small, it should work just fine.
